Miss Sheryl’s & Miss Jen’s Dec. 23, 2021 Red Robin Preschool Newsletter
Your children were so excited to be back on Monday! They greeted each other like they hadn’t seen eac other in forever!!! When they walked into the classroom they were greeted by a “seasonal change”. Our class tree had lost all of its leaves! In its place were icicles hanging from the ceiling and on all the branches of the tree. We talked about saying “good-by” to Fall and “hello” to Winter! They are ready for snow!!! The children also walked all over the classroom to make sure all their favorite toys and belongings were still in place.
Instead of reviewing all of our letters-we continued with the letter “Kk”. Everyone brought in their “Kk” pictures this week!!! Our Kangaroo on the letter board was not lonely! We added a “King” to our Pictionary Book and made a “Kingsize Kiss” as our “Kk” project. (Calories not included!)
Our elves were still busy this week-especially in the KITCHEN. We made holiday cookies from scratch! They each sampled one in school and brought the rest home for their family to enjoy.
On Monday, Luciana was finally Queen. She enjoyed every royal minute! The class enjoyed her cupcakes and she was a very fair leader at meeting time-giving all her royal subjects a turn at lesson. Her body painting is now on the castle ceiling! Thursday was Luca’s day to be our first “King”. He took on his role in royal fashion!
Our Holiday Party was a huge success. It was so much fun and delicious. We started off with “Royal Holiday Pizza” from King Luca.
Then, thanks to our generous wonderful mom’s and dad’s the party continued with lots of goodies! Thank you once again for making our festivities so bright! We are all trying to give our children joy and traditions in an unpredictable world. The children also got a chance to put a red nose on Rudolph! He was standing by our classroom tree looking for his nose! We had so much fun and the giggles were uncontrollable-when we saw where our friends placed his nose when they were blindfolded!!!
The children all know another holiday is coming up after Christmas. They know when the clock strikes twelve on the last day in December they shout Happy New Year!!! (Sorry I told them, you can always move your clocks ahead. Can we even do this in a digital world, as well as a world of “Alexa, what time is it?”) So I’d say get those noise makers, hats and confetti ready!!!
It brings me to the end of my last newsletter to you in 2021. You and your children are my extended family. Quite honestly, I feel like your children allow me to be their “Nana” while they are with me. So on that note… I wish you everything I wish for my own children and grandchildren. Please let 2022 be a new beginning for all of us. I wish you joy during the holidays and in the future. I wish you all good health in the New Year. For those of you that know me… I am a bit of a Disney fan … so I will end with two Disney quotes “May all your wishes come true” and let’s all hope to “live happily ever after.”
Have a wonder winter holiday!
Hope your Flat Child has a good time, too!
xoxo
