Miss Lori & Miss Kristine’s March 3, 2023 Red Robin Pre-K Newsletter
Everyone was so excited to see each other after we have been apart for a week on vacation! As soon as all of us came upstairs and all of the children unpacked, we all gathered together and took turns going around the room sharing our stories and adventures as to what we did during the week that we were off from school. We found out that one of our friends flew to Paris, a few of our families went to Florida, another family went to a big indoor amusement park and the rest of our children shared the fun activities at home that they did as well!
This week we learned about the letter “Ss”. All of the children made a “sunflower” for their Pictionary Book. We have been reading many books that begin with the letter of the week. All of the children are enjoying listening to Dr. Seuss books! Thank you to our families for sending in your Dr. Seuss books with us as well! We are all looking forward to hearing Mr. Michael read one of his favorite Dr. Seuss books entitled Sneetches. This book is a wonderful story about accepting people, no matter what they look like and no matter what our differences are! This is something we talk about often in our classroom.
We have completed another page in our All About Me book for the month of February. Each one of the children made their favorite flavored birthday cake with frosting. Next they decorated the birthday cake with sprinkles and they wrote a complete sentence all by themselves on the cake stating their age as of this week. Their handwriting is something to be very proud of!!!
Excitement was definitely in the air when all of your children came to school with snow on the ground!!! We have been speaking about the fact that although it is winter the weather has been feeling more like spring! It is hard to believe we have changed our calendar to March and that Spring will be here in just a few weeks!
Next week we will begin a unit on the “Human Body”. Each one of your children has been traced and they will make a life-size version of themselves and learn about many of our important organs as well as the job of our muscles, bones, veins, and ligaments.
Enjoy your weekend with your children!
Warmly,
Miss Lori and Miss Kristine
