Long Island Nursery Pre-K Teacher Lori

Dear Pre-K Families,

Happy New Year!  We hope all of you had a wonderful holiday!  Your children shared many fun stories about their holiday with us at school. They were so excited that their parents enjoyed eating the treats they made for them for their holiday gift!

We are making our classroom into a winter wonderland! Together the boys and girls painted a very large winter tree. We will be sewing mittens and hanging them from the tree after we read a book called The Mitten Tree, by Candace Christiansen.  Each of the children made individual winter trees filled with glistening snow on the bare branches to hang up in our classroom. Although it is the new season of winter, it certainly has not felt like it this week with the unseasonably warm temperatures!!!
We continued with our Pictionary Book. All of the boys and girls made a “Moose” for the letter “Mm”.  They used their fine motor skills to cut all of the pieces of the moose, and they wrote the upper and lower case “Mm”.  We have many pictures hanging up on our letter board that all of your children have brought in. We all know that our friend Milton starts with the letter of the week as well!

During lesson time we have discussed the new month of January as well as the new year of 2023. We continue to count each day that we are in school. It is hard to believe that we are in the 70s and approaching the 100th day of school quickly!  All of the boys and girls are so excited to reach the 100th day of school because they all want an ice cream party to celebrate!!!  We always speak about how much smarter they are getting each day that they are here at Red Robin!

Next week we will begin discussing Martin Luther King Jr. and why he is so important. In honor of his birthday our school will be closed on Monday January 16th. Please continue sending in two pictures for the letter board each week. Your children really look forward to hanging them up on our board and talking about their pictures. Next week the letter of the week will be “Nn”.

Enjoy your week!

Warmly,

Miss Lori and Miss Kristine

CHOOSE RED ROBIN WITH CONFIDENCE

Of course, parents should trust their own experience and instincts when choosing a school or camp. However, the critical decision about with whom to entrust your child should also be based on the program’s license, accreditations, and commitment to safety. Red Robin holds many such distinctions. They are a source of pride for us and can be a source of confidence for you.

Red Robin elects to maintain its accreditation with the American Camp Association (ACA).  This commitment requires Red Robin to adhere to many stringent standards and inspections, which help parents select camps that meet industry-accepted and government-recognized regulations.

In addition, our school is licensed by New York State.

We are also chartered by the New York State Education Department-Board of Regents.

We are permitted to operate by the Nassau County Health Department.

Red Robin is a peanut and tree nut free facility, one of many safeguards implemented to protect our students and campers.
