Miss Lori’s 2/5/2021 Red Robin Preschool Newsletter

Long Island Nursery Pre-K Teacher Lori

Dear Families,

Due to the snowstorm this week, we will continue to learn about the letter “Pp” throughout next week.  When we come back to school from our winter break, we will move on to the letter “Qq”.  All of the boys and girls were so excited to talk about their snow days and about what they did!  It sounds like many of our friends made snowmen, and several of our friends went sleigh riding too!  I’m so happy to hear that the boys and girls were able to get out and enjoy the snow!!!

Our class is counting down the minutes until they eat the yummy pancakes Miss Sheryl has made.  We smelled them in our class all the way from the kitchen!  Pajama Day is always a class favorite!  Everyone looks so comfy and cozy in their pajamas!  Miss Sheryl read us the story about a little boy named Mortimer who doesn’t like to go to sleep.  She taught us a special song to sing at bedtime. (Miss Sheryl apologizes in advance!)  The book is entitled Mortimer by Robert Munsch.  In honor of this fun day we read  If You Give A Pig A Pancake by Laura Numeroff and Curious George Makes Pancakes by Margaret and H.A. Reys.  These books were a hit with our class!

I hope you enjoy the Animals in Winter book that has come home.  During the next week and a half we will discuss President George Washington and President Abraham Lincoln.  We will also make something special for Valentine’s Day!  Next Friday, February 12th, we will have a Valentine’s Day party.  Please feel free to send in a store bought peanut and tree nut free snack. Please also remember, lollipops are not allowed.  If you would like to send in Valentine’s Day cards, we have a total of 17 friends in our class.

We are looking forward to Super Bowl Friday!

Enjoy the weekend playing in the snow and enjoy the game!  Hope your team wins!!!

Warmly,

Miss Lori and Miss Kristine

P.S. Our winter break begins Monday, February 15th –Friday, February 19th.  School will reopen on Monday, February 22nd.

CHOOSE RED ROBIN WITH CONFIDENCE

Of course, parents should trust their own experience and instincts when choosing a school or camp. However, the critical decision about with whom to entrust your child should also be based on the program’s license, accreditations, and commitment to safety. Red Robin holds many such distinctions. They are a source of pride for us and can be a source of confidence for you.

Red Robin elects to maintain its accreditation with the American Camp Association (ACA).  This commitment requires Red Robin to adhere to many stringent standards and inspections, which help parents select camps that meet industry-accepted and government-recognized regulations.

In addition, our school is licensed by New York State.

We are also chartered by the New York State Education Department-Board of Regents.

We are permitted to operate by the Nassau County Health Department.

Red Robin is a peanut and tree nut free facility, one of many safeguards implemented to protect our students and campers.
