Long Island Nursery Pre-K Teacher Lori

Dear Nursery Families,

This week was so much fun!  We learned all about the letter “Tt”.  The children made a “Tiger” for their Alphabet Book.  Our friends Timmy and Talia are on our letter board along with so many terrific “Tt”pictures!  We had a very special visitor in our class this week.  Her name is Tallulah Tuttle Teapot (or A.K.A. Miss Sheryl???)  She taught the children the proper way to hold their water bottles (pinkies out!), she brought out many objects that were in her bag, all beginning with the letter “Tt”.  Tallulah even performed an entertaining

song and dance for us.  Tallulah got a telephone call from the castle…we got to speak with the “King and Queen”!  Tallulah treated everyone to her delicious teddy bear cookies!  The children’s laughter could be heard for miles!!!

Our class made a life size tree for Spring.  They painted lots of green leaves all over the tree.  Each of the children made beautiful butterflies as well as three dimensional flowers.  All of the children are so proud of their hard work.  They love to see their beautiful artwork displayed all over our classroom!

We are immersed in the “Solar System Unit”.  This week we read about and learned about Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.  It is amazing to see how interested all of your children are in this unit.  They are becoming little astronomers.

I am wondering if any of our families have a telescope at home?  I have heard from the children that one or two of our families have a telescope which the children are able to look through.  Just a suggestion for those of you looking for something your family may want to do as well learn about the Solar System – a trip to the Vanderbilt Planetarium may be a lot of fun!  I have told all of the children about this place as I have been several times.  It is a truly fascinating place for anyone interested!

I have begun my assessments with each of your children.  I am extremely happy and very impressed with the progress each child has made since the start of school in September!  Stay tuned for information on Parent-Teacher conferences.

Enjoy your weekend!

Love,

Miss Lori and Miss Kristine

CHOOSE RED ROBIN WITH CONFIDENCE

Of course, parents should trust their own experience and instincts when choosing a school or camp. However, the critical decision about with whom to entrust your child should also be based on the program’s license, accreditations, and commitment to safety. Red Robin holds many such distinctions. They are a source of pride for us and can be a source of confidence for you.

Red Robin elects to maintain its accreditation with the American Camp Association (ACA).  This commitment requires Red Robin to adhere to many stringent standards and inspections, which help parents select camps that meet industry-accepted and government-recognized regulations.

In addition, our school is licensed by New York State.

We are also chartered by the New York State Education Department-Board of Regents.

We are permitted to operate by the Nassau County Health Department.

Red Robin is a peanut and tree nut free facility, one of many safeguards implemented to protect our students and campers.
