Long Island Nursery Pre-K Teacher Lori

Dear Families,

We hope those of our families that celebrate, had a very Happy Hanukkah!  When we came to school this week, Moshe disappeared!  However, in his place we now have “Buttons” the Elf and “Sparkle” the Elf!   Our class named each of them!  Sparkle has a beautiful, glittery tutu!  All of the children love trying to find them each morning!  They love to hide in silly places!  We found them swinging upside down on our clothes line which we use to dry our works of art!

Speaking of works of art, our class Christmas tree is hanging up.   So far, we have beautiful handmade ornaments which your children made, hanging on the tree.  We will be adding candy canes and stockings to the tree.   We are continuing to work on a special surprise for our class Mom’s and Dad’s for the holidays.     We have begun reading books about Christmas this week.   We read a very special book entitled Light the Lights, a story about celebrating   Hanukkah and Christmas.  During lesson time we spoke about some of our friends in the class that celebrate both of these holidays.  All of the children love to talk about the decorations at their home.

During lesson time we are having fun playing “I Spy”.  We are looking around our classroom for different shapes.  We have begun making a shape book.  One of the children found a rectangle as I said “I spy with my little eye something that we use to come into our classroom that opens and closes”.  We have made a circle in our book which is an orange, a square in our book, which we made into a gift box and an oval which we made into an egg!  We will continue this book next week and we will send it home then as well.

Our class made another page in their “Alphabet Book”.  We learned about the letter “Jj” this week.  Everyone made a “jellyfish” for their letter page.  We also know our friend Joseph begins with the letter of the week!  Our letter board is filled with “Jj” pictures.  This is always something all of the boys and girls enjoy sharing with their friends!  Next week we will move on to the letter “Kk”.  Please send in two or more pictures glued onto a piece of paper with your child’s name on it.

Thank you!

Have a wonderful weekend

Warmly,

Miss Lori and Miss Kristine

CHOOSE RED ROBIN WITH CONFIDENCE

Of course, parents should trust their own experience and instincts when choosing a school or camp. However, the critical decision about with whom to entrust your child should also be based on the program’s license, accreditations, and commitment to safety. Red Robin holds many such distinctions. They are a source of pride for us and can be a source of confidence for you.

Red Robin elects to maintain its accreditation with the American Camp Association (ACA).  This commitment requires Red Robin to adhere to many stringent standards and inspections, which help parents select camps that meet industry-accepted and government-recognized regulations.

In addition, our school is licensed by New York State.

We are also chartered by the New York State Education Department-Board of Regents.

We are permitted to operate by the Nassau County Health Department.

Red Robin is a peanut and tree nut free facility, one of many safeguards implemented to protect our students and campers.
