Miss Lori’s E- Halloween Newsletter for 10-23-20

Long Island Nursery Pre-K Teacher Lori

Dear Families,

Hello everyone!  We hope you are all well and safe.  This week we moved on to the letter “Ee”.  We enjoy going over the pictures on the picture board every day.  Our friend Ethan is on our letter board!  It is really terrific to see some children drawing their own pictures and writing the words to go along with the picture!  Please have your children write their name on their pictures.  For the children needing help, it is best for you to use a yellow hi-liter and have your child trace over it.  Only the first letter should be an upper case letter.  The boys and girls are learning that the letter “Ee” has two sounds.  It either “says its name” as in “Ethan” or it has the short “Ee” sound as in “egg”.  Your children each made an “elephant” for their Alphabet Book or an elephant puppet.

Our class is sooooo excited for Halloween next week!  Everyone made a scary witch!  All of the children’s decorations will come home next week in time to hang up all over your house for Halloween!  Just a reminder, our “Halloween Party” will be next Wednesday, October 28th.  We will celebrate by having a party, picking pumpkins at our “Magical Red Robin Pumpkin Patch”, have a costume parade, (Please send your children to school in their costumes –labeled, along with a labeled change of clothes.) and we will go on a “Halloween Scavenger Hunt”.  This will be a really fun day for everyone!!!  You are welcome to send in a peanut/tree nut free store bought snack for the entire class for our party!  Please check all ingredients and that is made in a nut free facility.  Examples; Pirates Booty, pretzels, potato chips, cut up fruit, “School Safe” cupcakes, etc. Just a reminder, lollipops and popcorn are not permitted in school.  Thank you in advance for making our “School Halloween” a success.  We will capture all the fun and put the pictures up on Facebook.  We hope you are following your children and enjoying all the insider fun at Red Robin on our Facebook page.

Next week will be a review week of the letters “Aa-Ee”.  Please send in pictures of objects that begin with any or all of these letters.  Some of your children can be encouraged to write their name as well as the word to go along with each picture.  Thank you for all of your support with the homework each week!

Enjoy the beautiful Fall weekend with your family!

Warmly,

Miss Lori and Miss Kristine

*Please send in one empty paper towel roll as soon as possible.

Thank you!

CHOOSE RED ROBIN WITH CONFIDENCE

Of course, parents should trust their own experience and instincts when choosing a school or camp. However, the critical decision about with whom to entrust your child should also be based on the program’s license, accreditations, and commitment to safety. Red Robin holds many such distinctions. They are a source of pride for us and can be a source of confidence for you.

Red Robin elects to maintain its accreditation with the American Camp Association (ACA).  This commitment requires Red Robin to adhere to many stringent standards and inspections, which help parents select camps that meet industry-accepted and government-recognized regulations.

In addition, our school is licensed by New York State.

We are also chartered by the New York State Education Department-Board of Regents.

We are permitted to operate by the Nassau County Health Department.

Red Robin is a peanut and tree nut free facility, one of many safeguards implemented to protect our students and campers.
