Long Island Nursery Pre-K Teacher Lori

Dear Nursery Families

We had another fun week here at school.  All of the children are so excited to make a very special Valentine craft for their Moms and Dads!

It is a work in process, but it is definitely a keepsake!  This will come home with your children on Monday, Valentine’s Day.  As a reminder, we will have a Valentine’s Day Party on Monday, February 14th.  Please feel free to send in a peanut and tree nut free snack for the class if you would like.  In addition, please make sure to send a Valentine card for every child in the class, if you are sending in cards.  (The class list was sent home last week.)  Please remember, no lollipops please. If you can send your child to school dressed in hearts or wearing red for Valentine’s Day that would be great!  If that’s not possible, please do not worry about it!  We read a cute story called Love, Ruby Valentine, by Laurie Friedman.

This week we spoke about the letter “Oo”.  We discussed the two different sounds the letter makes.  The children know that the letter “Oo” says the long “O” as in “oval” and the short “O” as in “ostrich”.  Everyone made an owl for their Alphabet Book.  I read a book called  Owl Babies, by Martin Waddell.  Our friend Om is on our letter board!

We are all super excited for “Super Bowl Sunday on Friday!!!”  We can’t wait to play fun games and eat chips and salsa!  Many of the children told us that their Daddy’s watch football (and some Mommy’s too!) on television.

Next Wednesday please send your children to school in pajamas for the letter “Pp”.  If any of the girls will be wearing nightgowns, please make sure to have warm pants underneath.

Feel free to send their slippers to school in their backpack.

We are all very excited to come to school in pajamas and eat pancakes!  We will also learn about two very important Presidents next week, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

On Monday, please send your child to school with two pictures glued onto a piece of paper of anything that begins with the letter “Pp”.  Please have your child write their name either independently or hand over hand on the paper. (Just the first letter of their name should be an uppercase letter.)

Reminders:

  • Valentine’s Day Party – Monday, February 14th
  • Pajama and Pancake Party – Wednesday, February 16th
  • Friday, February 18th –Last Day of School –School will be closed for Winter Recess – Monday, February 21-Friday, February 25th
  • Welcome Back – Monday, February 28th

***(Remember to make your child’s and/or anyone else that would like a Covid – test for Sunday, February 27th here at Red Robin.)

Wishing all of our families a wonderful weekend!

Warmly,

Miss Lori and Miss Kristine

CHOOSE RED ROBIN WITH CONFIDENCE

Of course, parents should trust their own experience and instincts when choosing a school or camp. However, the critical decision about with whom to entrust your child should also be based on the program’s license, accreditations, and commitment to safety. Red Robin holds many such distinctions. They are a source of pride for us and can be a source of confidence for you.

Red Robin elects to maintain its accreditation with the American Camp Association (ACA).  This commitment requires Red Robin to adhere to many stringent standards and inspections, which help parents select camps that meet industry-accepted and government-recognized regulations.

In addition, our school is licensed by New York State.

We are also chartered by the New York State Education Department-Board of Regents.

We are permitted to operate by the Nassau County Health Department.

Red Robin is a peanut and tree nut free facility, one of many safeguards implemented to protect our students and campers.
