Miss Debbie’s Toddler Times Newsletter for 09-24-20
Dear Families,
Wow! Two weeks of school already! Time flies when you’re having a blast. It has been so much fun getting to know your children. This is a group filled with personality!!! The boys and girls are getting familiar with each other and it’s extraordinary to watch. Our kitchen area is very busy from making “pizza”- to cracking eggs for a cake they are making. The children love to sit at the “dinner table” and serve their friends. Tower building with our “ABC” blocks is also popular. They have great imaginations.
Our lesson time is filled with music and we are starting to hear little voices joining us in our daily songs. They are learning our lesson routine and love to be calendar and weather helpers. They go as a group to the window and try to figure out what the weather is each day.
This week we started learning about the letter “Aa”. The first thing we did is place an enormous letter “Aa” on our classroom table. I cut an apple in half. Then everyone got to dip the apple halves into red and then green paint and stamp it all over our classroom “Aa”. It looks really cool on our letter board. We also worked on making an airplane this week. Airplane starts with the letter “Aa”. We would like to thank the Morgillo’s for sending in yogurt pouches with the awesome caps for the children – we think it really made our airplanes look authentic!!! We can’t wait to get them home to show you! We also did an amazing experiment with apples. We used baking soda, vinegar and a slightly carved out apple. As I poured the vinegar onto the apple covered in baking soda the children watched our “Apple Volcanoes” erupt!
They watched it foam and heard it fizzle! So much fun and excitement!
We have started talking about our new season – Fall.
We will take a nature walk next week and start to observe any changes that might be happening to Red Robin’s trees.
The weather has really been incredible this week and we get outside as much as possible. As you start to send the children in with new coats or jackets please make sure everything is labeled.
It really impresses me how well your children have adjusted. They all walk through the school gates with smiles.
Reminder – Red Robin will be closed on Monday, September 28th for religious observance. School will re-open on Tuesday. For all those families celebrating we wish you a joyous holiday.
Please know we are always here for you with any questions or concerns.
Next week we will work on the letter “Bb”.
Wishing everyone an amazing, awesome Autumn weekend filled with family walks, bicycle or scooter rides.
Warmly,
Miss Debbie
