Miss Debbie’s Newsletter for 10-23-20

Dear Families,

It has been an exciting week in our classroom!  We can’t get enough of the Letter “Ee”.  We started off with decorating our classroom “Ee” with lots and lots of “ELMOS!”  We used red crayons to color individual Elmo’s and then glued them on our “ENORMOUS” classroom “Ee!” We listened to many Elmo songs while we colored.  We love Elmo so much we created our very own to take home at the end of the week.  He is very cute!

While still learning about the letter “Ee” we are all about Halloween!!!  We can’t believe it is almost here!!!  We are creating some great Halloween decorations that will you will be able to display when the actual day arrives.  Your children made some “spooky” bats out of clothespins and markers – they look so real!  We wanted to make an extra special pumpkin and we got inspired by the book, The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin, by Joe Troiano.  We also watched the animated version of the story, so much fun!!!  We learned that no two pumpkins are alike and neither are people!!!  We can all get along and celebrate the differences.  While we do our Halloween projects we listen to Halloween songs, too!

***Next week we will celebrate Halloween on Wednesday, October 28th.

You can send your children in their costumes.  (Please label every piece.)  Also send in a change of clothes so that we can change them after the festivities and the costumes will be in good condition for Halloween.  Your children will go into the “Red Robin Magical Pumpkin Patch” and find a pumpkin.  They will also go on a “Red Robin Halloween Hunt” all over Red Robin to find their “treats”.  They will also have a costume parade.  It will be so exciting to share Halloween with our school friends!  We can’t wait to see what everyone is dressed up as!!!  We will also have a “Halloween Party!”  Feel free to send in treats for the whole class to share.  Please remember that all ingredients on the package must be tree nut and peanut free and made in a nut free environment.   Aside from the school safe cupcakes, you could send in Pirate’s Booty, pretzels potato chips, cheese doodles or cut up fruit. We will capture all the fun and put the pictures up on Facebook.  We hope you are following your children and enjoying all the insider fun at Red Robin on our Facebook page.

With the Fall like weather almost upon us please send in a new set of extra clothes that are season appropriate.  We will send back the lighter weight clothes in exchange for the warmer ones. Unfortunately, we know the cooler weather is coming.  Please remember to label everything you send in, as well as the new jackets that they are wearing as the weather changes.  Remember, long as it is not below freezing or we start to experience wind chills, (Please, not for awhile.) we will go outside!

We finished up the letter “Ee” making “ELEPHANTS” out of our handprints.  When you finally get your child’s Alphabet Book home at the end of the school year – you are going to love it and keep it as a memory of their first year at school when their hands were so small.

Next week we will review the letters we have done so far.

Have a fabulous and “funtastic” Fall family weekend!

Warmly,

Miss Debbie and Miss Sam

CHOOSE RED ROBIN WITH CONFIDENCE

Of course, parents should trust their own experience and instincts when choosing a school or camp. They are a source of pride for us and can be a source of confidence for you.

Red Robin elects to maintain its accreditation with the American Camp Association (ACA).  This commitment requires Red Robin to adhere to many stringent standards and inspections, which help parents select camps that meet industry-accepted and government-recognized regulations.

In addition, our school is licensed by New York State.

We are also chartered by the New York State Education Department-Board of Regents.

We are permitted to operate by the Nassau County Health Department.

Red Robin is a peanut and tree nut free facility, one of many safeguards implemented to protect our students and campers.
