The excitement is in the air! Your children are having so much fun with all our holiday songs, activities and projects!
We didn’t forget about our letter of the week. During lesson we learned all about “Kk”. We decorated our King-sized “Kk” with lots of kisses!!! We colored all the lips red. Did you know “Kk” is for kite? We went outside during the week and Mr. Michael helped us fly a beautiful colored kite with rainbow colors for the tail. We chased the kite in the field! The children had so much fun outside with the real kite we decided to each make our own inside! We used all kinds of pretty colored tissue paper. The last project we did for “Kk” was make kittens using our hands for our Alphabet Books.
We are really, really busy getting ready for the holidays!!! It is like Santa’s workshop in our classroom! We hope you enjoyed the menorah we made. Maybe some of you used it. You can always use it for counting by taking the “candles” on and off. On Wednesday Miss Sheryl made latkes (potato pancakes) for us to taste. Some of the children tried them with applesauce or chose to eat the applesauce separate from the latkes. Everyone loved them! The children have learned the “Latke Song” as well as the “Dreidel Song” and “Chanukah is Here”.
We also made Christmas trees. They are so colorful and sparkly! At music time with Miss Sheryl we are singing some fun songs about Christmas; “Five Candy Canes”, “Jingle Bell Opposites”, ”Santa is His Name O”, “The Lights on the Christmas Tree”, “Christmas Freeze” and the “Reindeer Pokey”. They love to sing and perform! All of these can be found on whatever music app you use. The songs are from “Kids Songs for Christmas” by The Kiboomers. Have fun!!!
Next week is a short week! So we will not move on to a new letter. We will review all the letters, numbers, colors and shapes we have learned so far.
Speaking of next week, our “Holiday Party” will be next Wednesday! It happens to coincide with a visit from a “very special merry visitor!” Please feel free to send in treats for the class that are store-bought and peanut and tree nut free. Please read the ingredients to make sure they are not made in a factory that processes with nuts. Thank you in advance for your generosity and in making our party a huge success.
We would like to take a moment once again to thank you all for entrusting your children into our care. They are an amazing group of children. It is truly a gift for us to be with them every day.
From our families to all of yours we wish you a joyous and beautiful holiday season, and a Happy and Healthy New Year filled with hope, love, health and positivity for 2021.
Miss Debbie and Miss Sam
P.S. We hope you liked our holiday gift!!!
P.P.S School will be closed Thursday, December 24th – Sunday, January 3rd. We will see everyone on Monday, January 4th, 2021!!!
