Dear Families,
What a great week to be in school! We sure know how to have fun! We did not let the weather stop us this week at all!!! After watching and reading about Spookley the Square Pumpkin, we decided to make one of our own. We think he’s really cute! We painted him orange and put his face on. We also made spiders using black paint and then we made our own webs with string. Good exercise for strengthening our fine motor skills. Wait until you see our “creepy cute bats” come home. They really finished off our decorations for Halloween. We painted clothes pins black and then colored coffee filters. We added water and it really made some cool colors. We read so many Halloween books, too. Wednesday was the most fun!!! Miss Sheryl came into class and read us a spooky story entitled, In A Dark, Dark Wood. She taught us if we get scared to press our “brave button”. (Our noses) It was so exciting! Most of us had to press our buttons including Miss Sheryl!!! We learned some Halloween finger plays, too. Then she took us on “Halloween Hunt” and we found witches, spiders, ghosts, bats, and a haunted house. At each stop we received a bunch of sweet surprises. We also hunted for pumpkins and turned them into Jack O’ Lanterns. Our party was a huge success! Thank you so much for your generosity and making it great!
Next week we will be back to our alphabet. We will work on the letter “Ff”. We have a lot of FUN projects and games to help us learn.
