April 22, 2020 Red Robin School Hugs & Kisses from Miss Sheryl
Dear Red Robin Families,
I hope everyone is safe and healthy.
Happy Earth Day!!! I truly believe it is a special Earth Day this year. Covid 19 is a devastating disease. It is not just ravaging through the United States – it is the enemy of the world. While Sheltering in Place and self-isolation, it has given me and I’m sure all of you –time to count our blessings. We are lucky to live in an incredible country. It is just a small piece of the place we call home…Earth. So while we take care of ourselves and our loved ones, we must take care of our planet. You can open up that discussion with your children today. The National Geographic channel is streaming lots of amazing stories that touch on this subject, as well as The Museum of Natural History.
I have attached some coloring pages and an Earth Day Scavenger Hunt (Pre-K you already have it) to encourage talking about keeping our “HOME” healthy, too. I think the following says it all:
NOT EVERYTHING IS CANCELLED
sunshine is not cancelled
spring is not cancelled
love is not cancelled
relationships are not cancelled
reading is not cancelled
naps are not cancelled
devotion is not cancelled
music is not cancelled
dancing is not cancelled
imagination is not cancelled
kindness is not cancelled
conversations are not cancelled
hope is not cancelled…

I’m sure we can all add more to that list.
Thank you for keeping in touch with me. Please send photos and/or videos when you can.
Red Robin is always here for all of you as well as Mr. Michael and myself.
I ended with this kind of sentiment in the Pre-K letter and I want to extend to you all.
They say “April Showers bring May Flowers”, I’m hoping not only for flowers, but to all be together soon to watch your children and families blossom and grow together.
Stay safe and healthy!
Miss you all!
XOXO
Miss Sheryl
