To our Terrific Toddler Families,

Thank you for accepting me into your toddlers’ life even more than I was as the Educational Director.  I wish it was not under these circumstances-but-on a personal note it is my greatest joy to be in a classroom fulltime. (Please don’t let Mr. Michael know-lol.)  Time sure flies when you’re having fun and last week was a quick one!!!  We sang, we danced, we learned, we played and most important we had fun!!!

The children finished up their butterflies and our room looks very spring like even if it doesn’t feel that way outside.  We are going to put winter coats on them for now and learn more about the “Life Cycle of the Butterfly” when we come back from Spring Break in a couple of weeks.  Our caterpillars will come in the mail and our classroom will truly come to life with excitement and curiosity as your children get to witness this amazing act of nature firsthand.

Last week we talked about the phrase “April Showers bring May Flowers”.  Your children were able to talk about what flowers need.  We will also look forward to warm weather and making our own planters and hopefully grow flowers in them!!!

The children are working hard creating April Shower umbrellas out of tissue paper and glue.  Which we could certainly put to good use last week and it looks like we might need it again this week, too!  Even though it rained, the class still visited our Indoor/Outdoor playground for some gross motor fun and exercise.

Our color of the month is “Yellow” and the shape is the “Star”.

The “Rainbow Catchers last week were Max and Vihaan!

They showed their friends lots of interesting “yellow” items from home and school.  The color yellow is keeping us optimistic that Spring is here and the sun is going to shine.

This week we will continue to work on our umbrellas, as well as introduce the children to the holiday of Passover.  The children will start making their own “Matzoh Man”, as well as we will read the story The Matzoh Man.  Next week we will eat matzoh with butter that we make ourselves!!!

In the next few weeks along with all the books we will read about the magic of this beautiful time of year we will read lots of books that pertain to the number three.  The reason is your children are getting ready to leave the “twos” and move on to the Nursery.  They will or have been turning three this year.  Stories like The Three Little Bears, The Three Little Pigs, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and The Three Little Kittens will be read just to name a few.

Your children are incredible!!!  I can’t say it enough!  They have come so far since September.  Kudos to all of you on the wonderful children you have.  The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.  It is always amazing to Mr. Michael and myself when we stand together at Westbury Manor on moving up day.  Your Toddlers are in our Pre-K class graduating and going on to Kindergarten~ and we remember them on their first days at Red Robin.  Some of them I will embarrass and say I used to diaper or helped toilet train.  I don’t mean to rush the years~ we just thank you for the privilege of watching your families grow.

That being said we are also working on our Toddler End of the Year Show!!!  Wait and see!

If there is anything I can do for you now and always-I am a phone call away.

Miss Desi says she hears so much laughter and fun going on-she’s not sure who is enjoying this opportunity more-hopefully it is your child ~ but it is my pleasure to be here.

I want to thank the wonderful assistant teachers for all their help, love and devotion to your children as well.

Looking forward to “tons more fun” with your little ones this week!!!

 Fondly,

Miss Sheryl

XOXO
