Dear Families:
Our shortest month is one of our busiest. Kazem, Megan, and I will celebrate our birthdays this month. On Wednesday, February 1st; we will have our own Super Bowl party. Salsa, chips, and football activities will abound. Wear your team jersey and celebrate. (It can be football, baseball, basketball, or any other sport. Celebrate your team allegiance that day.) On Thursday, February 2nd, we will see if the groundhog sees his shadow.
We will celebrate Chinese New Year by cooking and eating, fried rice on February 3rd. It is the year of the rooster. Lanterns, roosters, and dragons will adorn our classroom. We will celebrate the letter P by reading If you Give a Pig a Pancake and wearing our pajamas on February 9th and February 10th. February 14th will be our Valentine’s Day Party. We will be on vacation from February 20th to February 24th. We will return to school on February 27th.
Our color of the month will be red and our shape of the month will be a heart. Love is in the air with all our Valentines! We will be coloring valentines, creating lacy valentines, and placing stickers on our foam valentines. We will also be creating Valentines for Veterans. Miss Anne will deliver them to the VA Hospital. If you would like to create your own valentines at home from your family and put it in our patriotic Red Robin mailbox, we would appreciate that.
