Miss Lori’s Nursery School Newsletter for May 6
Dear Nursery Families,
It is hard to believe it is now May, and the school year is “ZOOMING” by!!! While I am VERY sad that we will not be returning to Red Robin for the remainder of the school year, I am very HAPPY that at least we get to stay connected on ZOOM. I love chatting with the children. It is so much fun to hear their stories, and to see them continue to interact with each other. It truly breaks my heart when a few of the children have brought up the virus. I’m glad that they are verbalizing their feelings; it is so difficult for them to understand why we can’t be together at school. I will continue to “Zoom” and I hope your children will continue to join me. It is such a treat for me to see them- I have a lot of fun with them!!!
I gave your children “homework”! I asked everyone to look at their Mommy while they attempt to draw a picture of their Mom. I directed them to carefully look at the shape of Mom’s face, the color and shape of Mom’s eyes, (don’t forget their eye lashes), their nose, mouth and ears. I also told your children to draw their Mom’s hair the color and the way they see it. So Mom’s, I hope you don’t mind taking some time to be a model for your child while they draw you! Please have your child write their name by themselves (you may have to let them see their name written down in front of them for them to copy). You may also want to write the date on the back of the picture. On Thursday, when we “Zoom”, please have your child bring their picture to “class” along with Mom (only if possible Mom!) so we can compare!! This should be a lot of fun!!!
I wish ALL of my “Nursery Moms” the healthiest and happiest of Mother’s Day on Sunday. I am so lucky to have the most amazing, and I do mean amazing, group of Mom’s. (Dad’s, you are all terrific too!!!) Happy Mother’s Day! Enjoy your most precious children. PLEASE give them an extra huge hug from me. I miss them so much!!!
Warmly,
Miss Lori
