Dear Parents,

It is so hard to believe that the holidays are upon us! We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Our Thanksgiving Feast was a terrific experience for the children. The food you sent in filled their plates and was delicious! Thank you so much for all the effort you put into making our Feast so special.

Our Food Drive was also a big success.  It was a valuable learning experience to “share” our food with the needy.  Thank you for your support.

During December we will continue with our alphabet puppets, and review letters Hh, Ii and Jj. The children really enjoy making their puppets each week. They put a lot of effort into them. Their fine motor skills are improving more and more each day.

There are plenty of topics for discussion this month. Winter and hibernation, as well as holiday traditions, are just a few of the topics we will cover. If you have any special holiday traditions that you would like to share with our class please call and schedule a time to do so.

Our Hanukkah Party will be on Monday, December 7th. Our Christmas Party will be on Monday, December 21st. If you would like to send in a treat for our parties please feel free to do so.  Please remember we are a nut-free environment.  Any goodies sent in must be packaged with labels stating that there are no nuts in it and the facility where the product was made is also nut-free.

Our holidays would not be complete without a visit to the Arbors, an assisted living facility, where we visit the elderly and sing our holiday songs.  The smiles on the faces of our elderly friends are priceless and to me the true meaning of this wonderful time of year is so obvious at this visit!  We will be going on this class trip on Wednesday morning, December 16th.  If your child does not attend school on Wednesday mornings please call to make arrangements to attend this very special trip.

As you can see, we have a very busy month ahead of us.  We would like to wish you a very Happy Hanukkah, a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with peace and joy!

                                          Fondly,

                                          Miss Anne & Mr. Joe
