Dear Pre-K Families,
The upper and lower case “Vv” was introduced this week. We discussed the sound the letter makes and thought of many words that begin with the letter “Vv”. The children made a “Victor Viking” puppet.
We are immersed in our Dinosaur unit. Every day the class can’t wait to hear more stories about dinosaurs. They especially love seeing pictures of real dinosaur bones and pictures of dinosaur exhibits in museums. The girls and boys can’t get over how huge the dinosaurs were compared to humans! They are learning many facts about each dinosaur. So far, the class favorite dinosaur is… the T-Rex!!! This week we have studied the Velociraptor, T-Rex, and Stegosaurus in depth. Their mural is coming together beautifully!!! The class knows that the Velociraptor and T-Rex were carnivores and the Stegosaurus was a herbivore. The children also know that the Velociraptor was one of the fastest carnivores, also called “The Speedy Thief”; the T-Rex was known as the “King of the Dinosaurs” and the Stegosaurus was known as the “Roofed Dinosaur.” Some more vocabulary words the children are learning are “paleontologist” and “prey”. We are all enjoying this unit!
Enjoy your weekend!
Warmly,
Miss Lori and Miss Kristine
